2027 marks the 30th anniversary of the inaugural Sensational Adelaide Golden Era Air Races. So much has changed. Building has been replaced with factory built aircraft

Organised by Stephen Green to re-create the Cobram Air Races and honour my Father's contribution to competition flying
Event scheduled for June at VMAA State Field Melbourne. Right hand circuits were initiated to increase safety and comply with the Area Approval by ensuring aircraft remain within the property boundaries. An in-flight video flying around the new course and a set of rules was published six months earlier.
One month out a number of the majority competitors refused to enter unless the circuit direction was changed. Event was handed over to Large Scale Racing Club NSW. One week out it cancelled due to an unfavourable weather forecast

Not supported by VMAA then Advertising and Publications Co-Operative picked it up as part of the Train and Hobby Show for another five years. The two biggest Melbourne toy / hobby retailers declined to support it

Cobram Air Races
Organised by Stephen Green and Bryan Harper. Two days of radio controlled air racing competition and airshow. Two air racing competition weekends paid for the club's annual overheads, a tractor, new LPG two door fridge, shade areas and concrete hardstand
Event budget $10,000. Paid by entry fees, gate takings and food sales with advertising support from Mora Shire
2011 - nett profit to Moira Model Aircraft Club - $7,000
2012 - nett profit to Moira Model Aircraft Club - $10,000
2013 - Instead of waiting for the event to pay for a 240 volt generator, club members, who no longer wanted to pay for their own petrol recharging their big LiPo batteries, knifed the President, purchased the generator. The event was lost. Along with that went the relationship with Moira Shire Councl which contributed $6000 towards advertising and promotion

Seagull Models produced its Miles Sparrowhawk ARF for 60cc engines.
Circuit re-arranged placing pilots adjacent Pylon 1 after club advised it was unable to furnish sufficient volunteers to act as marhsalls on the day. Improved spectacle for spectators

Event budget $30,000 - Paid for life changing surgery for two children
Due to unreasonable last minute changes to MAAA Display Permit conditions, 2011 event did not proceed. It also resulted in formation of Australian Miniature Aircraft Society (AMAS)
